The internet is constantly changing. And, that's one of the things I've grown to love about the web design business that we're in.
When we started this business 10 years ago, Flash websites were everywhere, SEO was more black hat than white, and smartphones were just beginning to enter the market in real way.
Now, Flash is being replaced by HTML5, SEO has become far more sophisticated, black hat techniques are heavily penalized and the use of mobile devices, including tablets, has taken off.
So, how do we manage to keep on top of all these changes? Lots of reading. Most mornings, you'll find my partner and I with iPads in hand reading through our feeds while we savour a cup of coffee (or two). During the day, we'll keep an eye on our Twitter feeds and Google + to see what other folks are talking about and share items of interest.
Find 15 minutes a day to stay abreast of changing technology. Like Bob Dylan said, "As the present now will later be past" - the times they are a-changin'.
